UAE to Europe Road Freight: Weekly Full Truckload Departures from Dubai and Sharjah
If you import auto parts into Europe from the United Arab Emirates, Dexpell runs weekly full truckload (FTL) road freight departures from Dubai and Sharjah to Germany, Italy, France and Spain. The average rate is USD 10,000–12,000 per full truck. The final price depends on the delivery city, cargo weight and volume, the goods themselves and the Incoterm you buy on. Loading happens at your supplier's warehouse and delivery goes to your door, with every border crossing managed under one booking.
This guide explains how the overland route works, what drives the truck rate, which documents European customs expects for automotive spare parts, and how to book a truck on the next weekly departure.
Last updated: 30 September 2026. Border and route conditions in the region change quickly, so we confirm the routing for every departure at booking.
Why European Auto Parts Importers Are Moving UAE Cargo by Road
Dubai and Sharjah are among the world's busiest re-export markets for automotive spare parts. Distributors there hold deep stock of OEM and aftermarket parts for European, Japanese, Korean and American vehicle brands. For a European importer this means one pickup point for a mixed order of brake components, filters, suspension parts, lighting, engine parts and body panels.
In 2026 the usual sea route from Jebel Ali has been disrupted. Container shipping through the Strait of Hormuz has been severely restricted since late February 2026, and as of September the Gulf's biggest port is still waiting for normal service to return. A truck loaded in Dubai or Sharjah never enters the Strait. It drives north across the Arabian Peninsula and into Europe over land, which makes road freight the most predictable option for many importers right now.
A full truck also suits the way auto parts are bought. A typical replenishment order of 20 to 33 pallets fills a standard European semi-trailer, and it moves as one sealed load for one consignee. It is not split across container consolidations and port transshipments.
The Route: How a Truck Gets from Dubai to Germany, Italy, France and Spain
UAE–Europe trucks use the overland corridor from the Gulf through the Levant to Turkey. The main stages are:
UAE to Saudi Arabia: export clearance in Dubai or Sharjah, then the drive into Saudi Arabia and across the Kingdom toward the Jordanian border.
Saudi Arabia to Jordan: the Al Haditha–Al Omari crossing is the main freight gateway between the two countries.
Jordan to Syria to Turkey: the Jaber–Nassib crossing into Syria, then north to the Turkish border. Traffic on this corridor has grown steadily through 2026, and Turkey is upgrading its Syrian border gates.
Turkey to the EU: Turkish transit, then entry into the European Union through Bulgaria (Kapıkule–Kapitan Andreevo) or Greece (İpsala–Kipoi).
EU delivery: onward road haulage to the consignee in Germany, Italy, France or Spain.
Transit through non-EU countries runs under the TIR system. TIR lets a sealed load cross several borders on one guarantee without customs duties being paid at every frontier. Saudi Arabia has been a TIR contracting party since 2018. Some Syrian crossings have at times restricted large TIR trucks and required a handover to local vehicles. For that reason we confirm the exact crossing points, and any handover requirement, for each departure before the truck is loaded.
Dexpell's operational base is in Turkey, so the Turkish leg is where we add the most control. This includes transit documentation, driver and vehicle changes when needed, and cross-docking if a load has to be reworked before it enters the EU.

UAE to Europe Truck Freight Cost: What Determines the Price
A full truck from Dubai or Sharjah to Germany, Italy, France or Spain averages USD 10,000–12,000. This is a guide range, not a fixed tariff. Your rate is set by the following factors:
Delivery city: distance from the EU entry point matters. Southern Spain or southern Italy costs more than southern Germany.
Weight and volume: the rate is based on a standard 13.6 m semi-trailer, which carries up to about 33 Euro pallets and roughly 24 tonnes. Very heavy loads (engine blocks, gearboxes, brake discs) reach the weight limit before the trailer is full, while bulky parts (bumpers, body panels) fill the space first.
Cargo type: airbag modules, lead-acid and lithium batteries, and parts with fluids are dangerous goods under ADR. They need declared packaging, labelling and a qualified driver, and this affects the price.
Incoterms: a DAP quote covers the truck to your door without EU import charges. A DDP quote includes customs clearance, duties and import VAT. EXW pickup adds UAE export clearance.
Customs and transit costs: TIR carnet, border fees, road tolls and EU entry declarations.
Cargo insurance: optional all-risk cover based on invoice value, which is worth considering for high-value parts.
Waiting time: extra loading or unloading time and extra border dwell time beyond the free allowance.
Every quote itemises what is included, so you can compare it fairly with a sea or air option.
Transit Time: What to Expect Door to Door
Because departures are weekly, you can plan replenishment orders around a fixed loading day. Door-to-door transit time is made up of:
Loading and UAE export clearance: usually quick when the commercial invoice and packing list are ready on loading day.
GCC and Levant leg: the Saudi, Jordanian and Syrian border crossings are where most variation happens. Queues, inspections and weekend or holiday closures all have an effect.
Turkey transit: generally smooth under TIR.
EU entry: the entry summary declaration must be lodged in advance in the EU's ICS2 system, which is mandatory for road freight. Clearance then happens at the border or under NCTS transit at an inland customs office near the consignee.
Final delivery to your warehouse.
The most common causes of delay are invoice and packing list mismatches, missing HS codes, undeclared dangerous goods and physical customs inspections. All of them can be avoided if the documents are right before the truck leaves. We give you a transit estimate for your specific lane when we confirm the booking, and update you at each border.

Documents and EU Customs Clearance for Auto Parts from the UAE
These are the documents a full truckload of spare parts needs:
Commercial invoice: with HS codes, part descriptions, quantities, unit values and the Incoterm.
Packing list: pallet by pallet, with gross and net weights.
CMR consignment note and TIR carnet for the road transit.
UAE export declaration and, where needed, a certificate of origin issued by the local chamber of commerce.
EU importer's EORI number and VAT number for import clearance.
Dangerous goods documents (ADR declaration, safety data sheets) for batteries, airbags and similar items.
Tariff classification and EU duty
Most vehicle parts fall under HS heading 8708 (brakes, gearboxes, axles, wheels, suspension, radiators, silencers, steering parts). Other common headings are 8409 (engine parts), 8421 (filters), 8511 (ignition and starting equipment), 8512 (lighting and signalling) and 4011 (tyres). EU duty on most 8708 parts is between 3% and 4.5% of the customs value. The customs value is the price of the goods plus freight and insurance to the EU border. Always check the exact 10-digit TARIC code, because the rate depends on the part and its intended use.
Origin, preferences and anti-dumping
No EU–UAE free trade agreement is in force. Negotiations are still ongoing as of September 2026, so UAE shipments pay standard EU duty rates with no preferential reduction. Remember that parts re-exported from Dubai keep their country of manufacture as their origin. A part made in China and sold from a Dubai warehouse is Chinese-origin for EU customs. Check whether any EU anti-dumping measures apply to that origin before you order.
Import VAT
Import VAT is charged on the customs value plus duty. The standard rates are 19% in Germany, 22% in Italy, 20% in France and 21% in Spain. VAT-registered importers can normally recover it through their VAT return. Under DDP terms, Dexpell arranges clearance and pays duties and VAT on your behalf.
Used parts
Used engines, gearboxes and other used components must be drained of fluids and properly packed. They must also be clearly functional reusable parts. Items that EU authorities treat as end-of-life waste fall under separate waste-shipment rules, so describe used parts accurately on the invoice.
Road vs Sea vs Air Freight from the UAE to Europe
Road (FTL): best for full loads of about 10–24 tonnes that need a reliable, door-to-door lead time without going through Hormuz. You get one sealed trailer, one booking and weekly departures.
Sea freight: usually the cheapest per kilo in normal conditions. In 2026, however, sailings from Jebel Ali are exposed to the Hormuz disruption and to rerouting around the Red Sea, which makes schedules hard to plan.
Air freight: the right choice for urgent, lighter parts shipments such as emergency back-orders or high-value electronics. It is too expensive for full pallet loads.
Many importers combine these modes: regular stock moves by truck, and urgent back-orders go by air.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a full truck from Dubai to Germany cost?
A full truckload from Dubai or Sharjah to Germany, Italy, France or Spain averages USD 10,000–12,000. The final price depends on the delivery city, weight and volume, dangerous goods content, and whether you choose DAP or DDP terms. Send your details to receive an itemised quote.
How often do trucks leave the UAE for Europe?
Dexpell has weekly full truck departures from Dubai and Sharjah. A fixed weekly loading day lets auto parts importers plan replenishment orders around a regular schedule.
Which route do UAE–Europe trucks take?
Trucks run overland from the UAE through Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Syria to Turkey, then enter the EU through Bulgaria or Greece. The exact crossing points are confirmed for each departure based on current border conditions.
Is road freight from the UAE affected by the Strait of Hormuz closure?
No. A truck loaded in Dubai or Sharjah travels overland and never passes through the Strait of Hormuz. That is why many European importers moved UAE cargo from sea to road in 2026.
What customs duty do auto parts from the UAE pay in the EU?
Most parts under HS heading 8708 pay 3%–4.5% EU duty on the customs value, plus import VAT in the country of import. No EU–UAE free trade agreement is in force yet, so standard rates apply. The exact rate depends on the 10-digit TARIC code.
Can Dexpell deliver DDP to my warehouse in Europe?
Yes. Under DDP terms, Dexpell handles EU import clearance and pays duties and import VAT on your behalf, and the truck delivers to your warehouse. You receive one all-in price per load.
Can I ship batteries and airbags on the same truck?
Yes, if they are declared in advance. Batteries and airbag modules are dangerous goods under ADR and need correct packaging, labelling and documents. Undeclared dangerous goods are one of the most common causes of border delays.
What documents do I need to import auto parts from the UAE into Europe?
You need a commercial invoice with HS codes, a packing list, the CMR and TIR carnet, the UAE export declaration, and the importer's EORI number. Dangerous goods also need ADR documents. A certificate of origin is recommended to support the declared origin.
Do you offer part loads (LTL) as well as full trucks?
This service is built around full truckloads. If your volume is smaller, send us the pallet count and weight and we will tell you whether a shared load or another mode fits better.
Can one truck deliver to several addresses in Europe?
Yes. A load can be split at our Turkey hub or dropped at several EU addresses along the route. Tell us all the delivery points when you request the quote.
